Characteristics of the Women with High Fertility in Small Communities in Korea

Abstract

|
Characteristics of the women at high risk of having additional live births in the current National Family Planning Program are investigated from the sample surveys conducted in two areas: an urban area and a rural area. The objective of this study is to find independent variables that could explain the women´s characteristics of having additional births in terms of a multiple regression relationship. After examining correlation matrix between the dependent variable and various variables, independent- variables are selected from women´s socioeconomic, demographic, exposure to the National Family Planning Program, exposure to mass media and fertility behavioral variables.
